WinDoKu Information

WinDoKu is a challenging puzzle game which originates from Japan (with the name Sudoku). The goal is to fill the board with the digits 1-9 making sure that every digit only occurs once in every row, once in every column and once in every sub-matrix (made up of 3 x 3 squares). Sounds easy, but puzzles can be really hard to solve.

With this Windows application you can play as often as you like. You don't need to wait for tomorrows newspaper to arrive with a new puzzle and you won't have to buy those expensive books filled with puzzles. Play directly on your computer or generate a game and print it. WinDoKu can also print a batch of games.

WinDoKu can generate unique puzzles in four different levels of difficulty and each generated puzzle is guaranteed to have only one solution. You can also create your own puzzle, maybe by copying one from your local newspaper, and play or let the computer solve the puzzle for you if you get stuck. The number of solved puzzles on each level is saved between games so you can always see how many puzzles you have solved.

You can also save a game, including the entries you have made yourself, so you can continue a game later on if you get interrupted. You can also restart a game if you notice that you have made a wrong choice somewhere. WinDoKu can help you solve puzzles by only displaying numbers that are valid in each cell. This makes the Easy-level puzzles very easy to solve but is less helpful when playing more difficult levels. Finally, you can choose from three different ways of displaying the numbers on screen; either as ordinary latin numbers (1,2,3, etc.), as roman numbers (I, II, III, etc.) or as dots (like on a dice).

Limitations in the demo version:

- Only Easy-level games can be created
- Games can not be paused
- Games can not be saved (or opened)
- Puzzles can not be printed
- Pop-up messages appear from time to time

SlitherLink is a game that is a little bit like MineSweeper and a little bit like Sudoku. Now you can enjoy this game on your PocketPC anytime and anywhere.

The board consists of a number of cells. Each cell is surrounded by four dots. In some of the cells there is a number; this number indicates how many lines you must surround the cell with. You add lines by connecting two adjacent dots at the time (e.g. you can connect the upper left dot with the upper right dot which makes the cell surrounded by one line, etc.) so that in the end all lines form a single loop without any branches or crossings.

To add or remove a line, simply select a cell by tapping the cell you want to edit and then use one (or more) of the four 'line buttons' to add or remove lines. Next, simply select another cell to add lines to or remove lines from. When all the rules (summarized below) are obeyed you will be notified of your success, perhaps you'll even make it to the highschore table.

The rules summarized:
1. Connect adjacent dots with vertical and/or horizontal lines.
2. A single loop of lines is to be formed, without crossings or branches.
3. A number in a cell indicates how many lines that must surround the cell, while empty cells can be surrounded by any number of lines.

Once you have placed lines on the board so that the two latter rules are obeyed you have solved the puzzle.

Sounds simple? Be warned, it gets hard and is very addictive...

Hitori is a game that reminds a little bit about Sudoku and the other Sudoku-like games originating from Japan, now you can enjoy it on your PocketPC anywhere and anytime. The board is filled with numbers and in some rows and some columns there are duplicates of one or more numbers. The object of the game is to locate these duplicates and paint (or mark) them. This sounds really easy you might say, but there are more rules. Painted cells may never be adjacent to each other and all empty (non-painted) cells create a single continuous area, undivided by painted cells. Still, it might sound really easy but we can assure you that it is a lot harder than it sounds, and it is very addictive. The game is very easy to play. Choose which level you want to play when creating a new game from the 'Game'-menu, after some time the game will begin and your task is to paint the duplicate cells. To paint a cell, simply tap it once. If you change your mind, simply tap the cell once more to un-paint it. When you have painted cells so that all three rules (see below) are obeyed you will automatically be notified of your success and if you were fast enough you might even have earned a spot in the high score table. The rules summarized: 1. Numbers may never appear more than once in each row or column 2. Painted cells are never adjacent in a row or a column 3. Empty cells (not painted) create a single continuous area, undivided by painted cells Jobro Software's version of Hitori contains: - 3 different levels (easy, medium and hard) - 10 different color schemes - A 3-slot high score table for each of the levels - You can save games and load them for playing later Limitations in the demo version - 7 day trial period - Only Easy-level games can be generated and played
4.  Kakuro

Hot on the heels of Sudoku comes Kakuro. You can think of this game as a mathematical equivalent to crossword puzzles.

A Kakuro consists of a playing area made up of filled and empty cells, much like a crossword puzzle. Some cells contain a diagonal slash and one or two numbers. These numbers are the 'clues'. A clue in the upper right corner is a clue for the 'across sum' and a clue in the bottom left corner for the 'down sum'.

The object is to insert digits between 1 and 9 in the empty cells so that the sum of the digits in the empty cells equals the clues. No digit may be used more than once for each of the sums.

Sounds simple, but gets hard and is as addictive as Sudoku.

Jobro Software's version of Kakuro contains:
- 3 different levels
- 10 different color schemes
- A 3 slot high score table for each of the levels
- 4 different hint modes
- Save and load game ability

Download the demo today and try it out.

Limitations in the demo version:
- 7 day trial
- Only easy level games can be created and played
